I’m Claire Geary or Geary if you prefer, I do prefer being called Geary, to be honest. I am a graphic designer who’s interested in branding, typography, motion graphics, UX & UI. I have also started to learn how to use 3D software such as Dimensions and Sketch Up. Outside of my daily role, I do like to go swimming once or twice a week and also netball training on a Wednesday evening. Finding time to swim, and work part-time along with studying can be challenging. However, I plan my time accordingly which allows me to get the best out of my work and swimming. An interesting fact about myself which not many people know about is I have 7 tattoos. All are hidden apart from one which is on my forearm, and I always forget that it is there.

Now a graduate graphic designer, I also have extensive professional experience from my role at an Architectural Practice in Exeter. I assist the Architects by creating visual imagery such as rendered master plans for housing schemes, rendering hand-drawn sketches, creating signage strategies, wayfinding, branding, marketing literature, and editorial design. I have sustained this role alongside part-time study for both my Foundation Degree at Exeter College and more recently my Undergraduate Degree in Graphic Communication. I have learned invaluable lessons including an understanding of business, liaising with clients, and a professional work ethic and attitude.
Having worked for five years, I am now turning to new challenges and I would love to utilise my skills within a different sector, which is more graphics based. University has broadened my knowledge of the industry and subsequently, I have developed as a designer. The various opportunities to experiment with new technology and ideas have ensured I have refined my skills and established a greater understanding of research and strategy.

My name is George Poole, I’m keen on branding projects and I’m currently pursuing a real interest in motion graphics. I’ve been studying Graphic Design at Plymouth College of Art for the last three years, and I’ve developed a work ethic that’s to just have fun with a brief. Getting stuck in by experimenting with bold colours and patterns as well as reaching out and trying more traditional techniques such as letterpress or screen print, it can bring depth to a project.
Adding movement to designs through motion graphics is also important to me, it brings projects to life and having that extra layer helps bring in and keep engagement on social media.
Outside of design, my other passion is for cider. In general, it’s got a bad rep and I’m looking to change that and show off the positives it has for the environment as well as for independent businesses.
